I have often thought that this would be a great business venture, to make dying a fun, and loving business.
I think it would be nice if you went to some lovely resort, or cruise ship. You pay them, just like a funeral home. Upon arrival, you are fitted with a small IV. For up to two weeks, you should have anything you want to eat, do anything pleasurable, spend time with your family and friends while being treated like a guest. Beautiful surroundings, movies, formal dinners, fresh food, the best, and lots of entertainment. Parties, champagne etc. Then when you feel you are ready, they just put the medicine in the IV, and off you go.
The last dog I euthanized had this. I gave him a prime steak the night before. Valium before he went to the vets, and he died in my arms.
We wouldn't let our pets suffer, why should we let our parents and grandparents?
I think our society has everything backwards. Rather torture those in pain, and putting them in a depressing home, celebrate their life, and drug them to oblivion so they can enjoy their last moments. They could charge a fee for this service if you want the deluxe end treatment.
